Meet Our Instructors

Nancy Anheuser

Nancy Anheuser

Nancy has been interested in horses since a child, starting with lessons at age 10 and earning a Horsemanship badge through Girl Scouts. She owned her 1st horse at age 21 when she graduated from nursing school. Nancy has learned a lot from the many horses she has owned since then. Horses are the best teachers if we are ready to listen and learn. Nancy is currently retired from nursing. She loves to work with beginning horse lovers, teaching them the foundations of riding safely and, most of all, respect and care for the horses who are their best teachers.
Rachelle LeJeune

Rachelle LeJeune

Rachelle LeJeune is a lifelong horse owner, who has been riding as soon as she could walk. She began teaching during the summers at an equestrian summer camp while in high school, which grew into a position as the seasonal Equestrian Program Director during college. While working full-time after college, she continued to teach lessons at a local community barn and has been instructing and training ever since. Rachelle believes in the importance of understanding equine behavior in order to apply it to our partnership with horses, both on the ground and under the saddle. Rachelle strives to give her students the skills to develop confidence, connection, and effective communication with horses while making it enjoyable for both student and horse. Rachelle enjoys riding and training her horses in her free time, hiking with her dogs, and enjoying the outdoors.
Jodie Edwards

Jodie Edwards

Jodie has been a riding instructor at Pine Ridge for the past two years. Her love for horses started at a very young age when she babysat horses for a family friend. When she was 10, she began taking riding lessons here and her love for horses has never stopped. At 15, she was given the opportunity to teach riding lessons to beginners which has become a strong passion. Her goal is to be a professional riding instructor and horse trainer. Outside of teaching, she also shows in 4H and at local hunter shows. She’s so grateful for the opportunities here at Pine Ridge and is excited to be a part of this year's horse camps.

About Camp:

Pine Ridge Riding Center has been holding summer camps, first in Mequon and now in the town of Polk, for over 32 years. If your child dreams about horses, treat them to a week of camp. We have many returning campers and some often sign up for more than one camp. We have a large indoor arena and horses and ponies of various sizes. You can also check out our camp dates, and more, on the camp brochure link below.

Daily Activities:

Learn about grooming, tacking and showmanship, health, maintenance and riding. As well as barn chores! It’s everything horses in a safe environment with experienced trainers. It will be a week you will remember.

Then at the end of the week, the campers put on a horse show/demonstration for friends and family the last hour on Friday at 11:00 am. Each camper will be awarded a certificate and photo at that time.

All campers will be required to wear a helmet anytime they are riding or working around the horses. Pine Ridge Riding Center will supply helmets if needed. Also, for safety and comfort, please wear smooth soled shoes/boots with a heel and long pants.
