Meet the Sisters:

Amanda Lane

Stables Manager/Horse Trainer

Summer Camp - Slinger, WI - Pine Ridge Riding Center LLC

She grew up with a great love for horses and had been working with horses since she was 10 years old growing up in northern Illinois and taking hunter/jumper lessons. She then moved to northern Wisconsin and worked at a Christian camp, Fort Wilderness, for 7 years training horses, trail riding, teaching lessons and managing 45 horses.

In 2006, she attended the Minnesota Horse Training Academy in Mora, Minnesota, "The Only School of its Kind". Then she went back to the school the following year in order to earn her trainer's certification. She completed this in October 2008.

In March 2009 she got a job at Woodlands Pony Farms, a hunter-jumper pony breeding farm in Virginia for three months. There she rode and worked with, on average, 10 ponies a day. She was training yearlings to five and six year olds. She worked there for about three months until she moved back here to Wisconsin. She has competed in several horse training competitions including the Extreme Mustang Makeovers. Check out their website for more info: www.extrememustangmakeover.com. Her first was in Murfreesboro, TN with her mustang Zion where she came in 5th place out of 30 trainers from all around the country. Then in April she competed in the Extreme Mustang Makeover in Madison at Midwest Horse Fair with her mare Jubilee and they also made the top ten.

She has had experience training wild Mustangs, Arabs, Saddlebreds, Quarter Horses, Ponies, Mules, and more. She has trained barrel racers, dressage prospects, jumpers, trail horses, pleasure horses, stud colts, and more. She does A LOT of desensitizing and safety is SUPER important with all of her horses. She does a lot of ground work, focusing on respect and manners. She specializes in starting young horses safely with good solid foundations. All horses are considered, all ages and breeds.

Michaela Lane

Head Riding Instructor

Summer Camp - Slinger, WI - Pine Ridge Riding Center LLC

Like her sister, Amanda, she too grew up with a love of horses. As a young girl, she would spend her summers helping out as much as possible with the horse program at Fort Wilderness, doing whatever she could to help. Amanda, along with her other sister, then began teaching her how to ride, which she absolutely loved. Then, at the age of 12, she decided she wanted to switch from western riding to English. So, she began taking lessons at the hunter / jumper stable, Pine Ridge Equestrian Center in Eagle River, where she rode for 6 years. When she was 15, she finally received her own horse that she had to train so she could compete with her in hunter/jumper shows. At this point she became very serious about riding, showing, and simply horses in general

A couple of years later, she had the opportunity to give riding lessons to a young girl, which made her realize that teaching people to ride is something that she is very passionate about. She also had the opportunity to train some horses and work with others under the supervision of Amanda. She is so excited about joining Pine Ridge Riding Center and is looking forward to being able to do what she loves.
